Hayley

Hayley is a lot of things: she is the little dog that runs with the big dogs, she's fluent in wookie, and, yes, she's an amputee. But if you were hoping that would slow her down, go ahead and swipe left!

Despite finding herself in a rural shelter with a badly broken front leg, she was still wagging her tail. After seeing a vet and being put in a cast and on crate rest for two weeks, she was still wagging her tail. When the cast came off and we realized she had severe and irreversible nerve damage, she was still wagging her tail. Even now, after undergoing surgery and losing her front leg, she is still wagging her tail. A lesser dog may have let all these things get her down, but not Hayley. After everything that she's been through, when she went back to the vet for her post-op check ups, she was so happy and excited...you would think it was the doggy version of Disney Land. Maybe its natural Doxie determination, but that's just the kind of dog she is.

Hayley has three modes: eating, playing, and cuddling. She is crate trained, house trained, and walks well on a leash. Hayley lives with four other dogs, all of whom are bigger than she is, and she gets along well with all of them. She will bark at kids riding bikes when she's on a leash, but its just because its a little scary to her. Speaking of kids, Hayley is good with them, but because she's a tripod, she would do best with kids that are old enough to understand that they have to be a little extra careful around her. Hayley's kisses tend to include some light nibbling, so kids would also need to understand that she's not "biting" them, just being playful.

The family that adopts Hayley will be infinitely richer for it. All she needs is someone to love her unconditionally, and be there for her like she will be for you. If you can do that for Hayley, she will bring immeasurable joy to your life by always wagging her tail.

Hayley is a Doxie Mix, weighs 18.5 pounds and has an approx DOB of May 2016. She is microchipped, spayed and is up to date on vaccinations.
